We begin your dental experience by hiring a competent clinical team who possess high levels of technical skill and passion for what they do.
ATMOSPHERE
We strive to make your visit as comfortable as possible. We begin with color and decor, quiet warm browns and burgundies. We serve beverages and provide blankets for those prone to chills; headphones, music and movies for those who prefer distraction. We make every effort to reserve plenty of time for your appointments so you do not feel rushed. We consider ourselves to be an ‘adults only’ practice, although we do see teenagers.
EXAMS
We respect each person as an individual with unique concerns and needs. No two people receive exactly the same care.
We listen! Whether your biggest concern is pain, time, or health, we take the time to listen and understand your needs, concerns and circumstances. If you are looking to schedule a general dentistry appointment, we have two different types of New Patient appointments. One is a Basic Care appointment, which includes an exam and cleaning with the doctor and hygienist. The other is a Comprehensive Exam with the doctor and clinical team. If you experience headaches, jaw pain, missing teeth, sleep apnea or you are interested in sedation options, we encourage you to begin with a Comprehensive Exam.
FILLINGS AND RESTORATIONS
You will find Dr. Carter and the Northgate Dental team quite skilled and efficient when cavities are present. We use quality materials and make every effort to give you an excellent restoration. At NGD, we provide only white fillings due to cosmetics and the concern that some people have with metals in their mouths.
ENDODONTICS (ROOT CANALS)
Dr. Carter will strive to prevent the need for endodontics, or root canals; however, when they are necessary we will take the best care of your teeth.
ORAL SURGERY (EXTRACTIONS)
When teeth are unable to be saved, we make every attempt to preserve jaw bone by carefully removing the affected teeth. These procedures are often performed under sedation.
INVISALIGN (CLEAR ALIGNERS)
With careful patient selection, we now offer new and existing patients the option of straightening their teeth with Invisalign. Whether you have had braces before, or you are new to orthodontics, Dr. Carter and his team will provide you a conservative option to achieve the smile you have always wanted.
TOOTH WHITENING (BLEACHING)
We have several options for tooth whitening, including take-home whitening trays and in-office laser whitening (Opalescence Boost). Both obtain good results. The Boost takes one appointment; take-home trays require weekly insertion at home. Personal preference dictates which one we recommend.
