My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?

Absolutely! Bleeding gums can be a sign of gum disease, which can cause all kinds of health problems. Gum disease can cause you to lose the bone in your jaw and eventually your teeth. The bacteria that cause gum disease have also been linked to problems like heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
